There are many hotels and serviced apartments in Canberra city near the conference venue and many others a short bus or tram ride away. For those of you travelling internationally, please consider a longer stay. Australia is a large country with so many wonderful places to visit. Even in winter, many of our destinations are much warmer than a European summer - think snorkeling on the Sunshine Coast, hiking in the Grampians, quaffing fine wine and sparkling prosecco in the Hunter Valley, Margaret River, or McLaren Vale, walking the base of Uluru, trekking in Tasmania or Kakadu, cruising Sydney Harbour or climbing the bridge. And don't forget Park Run - there are 12 free Saturday morning runs close to the National Capital alone - and one, (Lake) Burley Griffin Park Run, within walking distance of the city centre.
